A Work in Progress has this great post with a collection of Keep Calm and Carry On posters. She says the message helps her buckle down and get work done when she feels under pressure.
My nature is such that when I feel overwhelmed, I shut down and become practically paralyzed… What I need to do is calm down, focus on one thing and keep going.

I always love seeing the Keep Calm poster framed up and hanging properly on a wall. This one looks great in this Toronto kitchen.

The Keep Calm message is so simple yet effective. New people discover it everyday and it continues to motivate an inspire. This blogger had her first random encounter with the poster in a coffee shop window in London. She says in her post:
As I walked down North Audley Road towards the embassy (which I conveniently discovered is in my neighbor of Marble Arch) I passed a coffee shop with a huge sign in the window that simply said “Keep Calm and Carry On”.
It instantly became my new motto.

Mediation has a great post on the the history of the Keep Calm and Carry On poster. You should definitely check it out. Here’s an excerpt:
the posters were required to be uniform in style and were to feature ’special and handsome’ typeface making them difficult for the enemy to counterfeit. the intent of the poster was to convey a message from the King to his people, to assure them that ‘all necessary measures to defend the nation were being taken’, and to stress an ‘attitude of mind’ rather than any specific aim. on the eve of war which Britain was ill-equipped to fight, it was not possible to know what the nations’s future aims and objectives would be.

My website gets a lot of traffic from people looking for a “keep calm and carry on rug”. I guess this rug from Anthropologie is what they’re looking for. Whoever designed it got the font right which is nice to see. Thanks waxyhearts for discovering this!
